As we move into late spring/early summer, Los Altos has so many wonderful events to offer the community.  We are personally looking forward to next week’s “Spring Stroll” on May 1st from 5-9pm.  Family and friends gather downtown to shop while enjoying food, drinks, & live entertainment.  Over 50 of our unique Downtown Los Altos Shops will stay open late for this very fun,event.

Of course no one can deny the amazing turnout we have each year at the Los Altos Pet Parade.  This year’s 62nd Annual Pet Parade will take place on May 16th.  It is the only parade that we know of where more people walk in the parade than watch it!  From chickens, to snails, to llamas, to horses, it seems just about every type of pet is represented.  This parade has been hosted by the Kiwanis Club for over 60 years.  Los Altos residents, young and old, look forward to this very fun event!

So, if you are looking for a home in Los Altos, now is a great time to make a move.  Prices have adjusted, interest rates are great, and if you buy now, you can start enjoying life in Los Altos as a homeowner!

15 years later, it is still evident why people flock to North Los Altos and specifically the Sylvian Way neighborhood to buy homes.  The neighbors boast friendship and camaraderie much like you would see in an old Leave It to Beaver episode.  Even with today’s busy lifestyles with long work days and driving kids from here to there, once back on Sylvian Way, there is a noticeable calm about the neighborhood.  Homeowners stand in their front yards and talk to each other, they borrow milk and sugar when they need it, and there is a general sense that they all watch out for each other on a daily basis.  Kids run to and from each others homes to play, they have lemonade stands, and many of them walk to school together each morning.

We had over 75 buyers through over the week-end and many stayed to enjoy the ambiance of this quiet, tree-lined, street. There was an impromptu T-ball game going on out back and many neighbors dropped by to say hello and introduce themselves while we were hosting the open house. We have lived in Los Altos for 35+ years and clearly Sylvian Way exudes small town character and hosptality.

The most positive feedback we received regarding the property was how beautiful the interior of the home is. The vaulted ceilings as you walk through the front door are definitely an attention getter. Add the built in, arched bookshelves, the corner china cabinets, the incredible light that shines through the corner windows, and the HUGE basement, buyers were ready to stay all day!

What an amazing neighborhood this is. North Los Altos has always been a highly desirable place to live. Whether you want fantastic schools, a walk to town location, or a quiet tree lined street, 61 Sylvian Way offers it all. As we started to meet the neighbors, it became clear that the buyer that purchases this home will make new friends quickly and will enjoy even more ammenities than the home offers. Friends gather for the annual pumpkin carving in October and you may think this is just for kids but the word on the street is “kids” of ALL ages enjoy this event. 4th of July brings a block party to Sylvian Way.  The street is closed down so families can gather and the kids can play.  For those politically astute minds, you can always look forward to an election year forum where neighbors gather to gain knowledge on candidates and measures appearing on the ballot. This is another great gathering of neighbors that is both entertaining and informative.
